...It didn't work.

This isn't right! It can't be! I checked everything. There was no reason that spell shouldn't have worked! The intent was there, the wand movements were correct, the spellwork was spot-on. Everything was planned out; every detail plotted out. What could we have missed?

...God damn it.

There has to be something else. Some other way to do this. They all got here somehow. I'll figure it out.

[ooc: As you might have seen in some other replies today, James and Lute's spell FAILED. Anyone near the ball room earlier today will have heard the shouting of two boys casting a spell and a very large explosion immediately after, and probably seen flashes of light, if they were close enough. And for the curious - revertoalius is horribly butchered Latin for "return other". tl;dr;]

I think this place has amazingly strong protections on it. But, you're right there should be a way, we just need to find it!

[identity profile] pottershotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-15 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
That's got to be it. This place must be far more powerful than it looks.

But there's nothing that doesn't have some kind of loophole or flaw. There has to be another way to send these guys back, to bring everyone back from that other place!

[identity profile] joyfulsmile.livejournal.com 2008-10-15 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
It might take a while to figure it out, in the mean time though we should see if anyone needs help and keep and eye on the reflections we know about.

[identity profile] bloodluna.livejournal.com 2008-10-15 08:07 am (UTC)(link)
This mansion warps reality. You miscalculated.

I presume you were responsible for those explosions.

[identity profile] pottershotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-15 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. We have to keep everyone safe while we're trying to sort this all out. I'm sure we'll think of something soon. I hope.

[identity profile] pottershotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-15 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, the explosions were us. If we weren't in such trying times at the moment, they would have been pretty spectacular.

And yes, I can see now that we must have...miscalculated, along the way. We'll figure something out though. There's got to be a way, since they were switched in the first place.

[identity profile] bloodluna.livejournal.com 2008-10-15 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
It's possible that the mansion itself is interfering. Or if not that, then the one in charge of it.

There will be a way. We have to find it quickly, however. Too many people are getting too badly hurt already.

[identity profile] pottershotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-15 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
It really is possible. There might be powerful enchantments or protections on it that are keeping the spell from working. I mean, we could never just magic ourselves home or anything. There's got to be some powerful magic behind this place.

You're right. We should probably try and detain some of these mirrors if we can, to keep them from hurting more people. It might ultimately buy us time too, to try and find a solution.

[identity profile] bloodluna.livejournal.com 2008-10-15 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
With the way the mansion changes and repairs itself at will, almost organically, I wouldn't be at all surprised. Mere magic may be too simple a term, however.

Detaining them won't be easy, but we have little choice until a permanent solution is found.

[identity profile] notabat.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Your attempts are futile, Potter...

((I am sorry I didn't reply to the comment on the last journal! My internet totally died on me ;;))

[identity profile] pottershotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Be quiet! At least I'm doing something about all of this!

[identity profile] pottershotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
What would you call it then? I don't really know anything else that can make a building do something like that.

Mm. Agreed.

[identity profile] notabat.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Why is it so difficult to just stay put? You're not always going to be successful, nor will you always be the hero of the day.

((Ah~ no problem~

Yeaaah! Now I can RP till my heart's content~ ahaha))

[identity profile] pottershotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
How can I stay put when my friends are trapped over there? I have to do something to get them back before something over there gets them! The mirrors on this side are hardly pleasant, so they're probably just as bad, if not worse, on the other side.

There has to be another way to get them back. There has to be.

((Yay! /o/))

[identity profile] notabat.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
They will return eventually. You do not need to lose sleep over such a trivial matter.

[identity profile] pottershotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
It's not trivial! These things are running around trying to kill everyone! How the bloody hell is that trivial?

Besides, how can you be so sure? You don't know that they'll just come back on their own, and there's no way for you to know that they're even okay over there! I can't just sit here and do nothing!

[identity profile] notabat.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
If we were to be stuck on the other side permanently, then we would all be there, every last one of us. Obviously, that is not the case, seeing as nearly half of us are still residing in this mansion. This is most likely another event, Potter. The situation will return to normal in time, as it always does.

[identity profile] whatsspellcheck.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
A spell to switch everyone back?

[identity profile] pottershotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
I won't accept that. Even if it is "just an event" people are still getting hurt and there's no reason not to try and fix things and prevent it. This "event" is going too far and we have to do something about it.

You're just as bad as Pendragon. He was too cowardly to help too.

[identity profile] pottershotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
That's right.

...Wait, who are you?

[identity profile] whatsspellcheck.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Um. N-No one, really!

[identity profile] pottershotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Come on, you've got to be someone! Who are you?

[identity profile] notabat.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
DO NOT CALL ME A COWARD.

[identity profile] whatsspellcheck.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
You need a name to be someone.

[identity profile] pottershotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Well gee, you're just sitting there letting the mirrors do as they please, waiting for it all to end instead of trying to do anything about it. It certainly sounds cowardly to me.

Pendragon's doing similarly. He's holed himself up in his room like a girl.

[identity profile] pottershotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
You don't have one?

[identity profile] notabat.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
You don't have the right to accuse me of being cowardly.

[identity profile] pottershotter.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
I have every right, since it's more than mere accusation! Doing nothing is far worse than trying and failing. What do you have to lose from helping everyone try and stop these things? Would you really rather just accept the mansion's rule over us?

But it's useless talking to you about it, isn't it? No one you care about is over there so of course you don't give a damn.

[identity profile] bloodluna.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
Our worlds are very different. Each has its own interpretation of what magic is. This mansion transcends every world, however, and all of those interpretations are contained at once, forced into co-existence. The power this mansion has doesn't necessarily conform to the rules we may be familiar with.

[identity profile] whatsspellcheck.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Not quite. It's--well, it... exists. But it's nothing but a stolen identity.

[identity profile] notabat.livejournal.com 2008-10-16 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Be quiet. I will not read anymore of your nonsense.

Lecturing me will not get you anywhere, Potter.
